Job Summary: Clinical Manager, Blood Bank

Location: Berryville, VA

Position Overview: We are seeking a Clinical Manager for our Blood Bank (Transfusion Services). This is a salaried position with a flexible start time for an 8-hour shift, typically starting between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM. The role includes on-call responsibilities, which are rotated among staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee Blood Bank operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Manage a team that includes a Technical Coordinator, Laboratory Assistants, and 3-5 MLT/MT staff.
• Participate in committees such as Blood Utilization Review and Massive Transfusion Protocols.
• Collaborate with the Blood Bank Manager and Laboratory Director.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science (Master s preferred).
• ASCP or equivalent board certification required; Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of Blood Bank experience required; 8 years preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Blood Bank Supervisor required; 4 years preferred.
• 1 year of laboratory experience in high complexity testing for immunohematology required.
• Experience in a high-volume hospital clinical laboratory setting preferred; experience in a blood bank reference lab desired.

Compensation:

• Salary range: $32.57 - $50.48 per hour.
• Relocation fee: $10,000 - $15,000.
