Job Description

Position Title: Category Sourcing Manager

Location: Onsite | Cedar Rapids, IA

Industry: Data Center / Construction Procurement

Compensation: $125K–$135K base + 10% bonus (flexible depending on experience)

Travel: ~10% annually

Overview:

A growing, privately backed infrastructure organization is seeking a Category Sourcing Manager to support large-scale capital projects across North America. This role plays a critical part in managing the full sourcing lifecycle—leading vendor bids, executing contracts, and driving cost and schedule performance—across the preconstruction through completion phases of mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for construction-related categories
  • Manage vendor RFPs, negotiations, and contract execution for high-value agreements (often $1M+)
  • Partner with legal to review and finalize contract terms, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including project managers, engineers, and finance to align procurement strategies with project goals
  • Contribute to category strategy development and process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a strong service mindset while supporting complex, fast-paced project timelines

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience (4–5 years acceptable with strong construction background)
  • Proven experience managing vendor relationships in construction, capital projects, or real estate development environments
  • Deep understanding of contract negotiation, vendor lifecycle management, and sourcing strategy
  • ERP experience preferred (Oracle or Workday)
  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred, though not required
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
