About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chair for its Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and visionary leader with a strong background in engineering, engineering technology, or STEM education. Responsibilities include fostering innovation and collaboration, leading educational, research, and service activities, and ensuring the efficient operation of administrative functions. The Chair will be the principal representative of the department, responsible for strategic vision, program development, and expanding the department's research profile. They must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, approximately ten years of professional experience, and a proven track record in scholarly activity, teaching excellence, and administrative management. The ideal candidate will have a distinguished record as a scholar, a commitment to student-centered education, and experience in higher education administration. They should be adept at leading a diverse faculty and staff, promoting a culture of inclusion and belonging, and engaging in student success initiatives. Additional qualifications include a collaborative leadership style, experience in industry involvement, and a strong network with industry partners. The Chair will also be responsible for budget oversight, faculty and staff development, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies. The role requires a leader who can effectively manage resources, mentor early-career faculty, and lead the department toward enhanced sponsored research.
