Controller | Mattawan, MI

Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for manufacturing operations.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and profitability to drive operational improvements.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee inventory valuation and cost of goods sold calculations.

Recommended Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis within manufacturing operations.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control implementation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced data analytics and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and their impact on cost accounting.
• Prior experience with financial system implementations or significant upgrades (e.g., ERP, GL).
• Exposure to multi-currency operations and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
