In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
- Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
- Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
- Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
- Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
- A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
- Federal Work Study student may apply.
- In good disciplinary standing.
- Must be located in the U.S.
For complete program details, please go to our website: The Dance History Tutor will report to Dance Division Manager and Tutor Coordinator to provide one on one teaching support to a student currently enrolled in a Dance History Course that has been identified as needing support in a range of areas within the course. The Dance History Tutor will work with the students' course Professor to create a list of goals and areas of focus for the student. They will devise a schedule in collaboration with students and report back to faculty on the students' progress. We seek a mature candidate with a passion for teaching and proven experience teaching in group settings for at least 2 years. Students with experience teaching private lessons and with awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population with particular attention to performance skills and experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Work one on one with students to help them achieve stated goals to improve knowledge in this course.
- Create and maintain a positive, encouraging, helpful, equitable working relationship where students feel comfortable and can thrive.
Required Skills and Knowledge: - Knowledge of BCB Dance Division Dance History curriculum.
- In depth strong interest in teaching and learning issues, learning styles, learning disabilities, special needs issues.
- Good interpersonal, teaching, and communication skills to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Organizational and supervisory skills. Ability to coordinate and manage a support effort involving students, faculty and staff.
- Communicating regularly with the supervisor and faculty members involved in the tutoring program.
