Direct Support Professional Deaf/Blind Program - Fluent in American Sign Language

DDA Deaf/Blind Day Program Regular(30 hours) 

WHO IS A DIRECT SUPPORT - A supportive, “hands-on” person who assists.

PROFESSIONAL - Deaf-Blind Adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.

• Following a weekly schedule to support with vocational and educational goals.
• Support with community activities, assist while at volunteer sites in the community.
• Administer medications as needed, personal care, and socialization. 
• Other responsibilities as identified in the annual Person Centered Plan (PCP) meeting. Other duties per job description.

EXPECTATIONS:

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude, enthusiastic, and respectful. Patience is required. 
• Annual Physical and Flu vaccine required annually.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma; Relevant experience with Deaf/Blind adults is a plus.
• Valid MD Driver’s License with 2 points or less, fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience using tactile ASL.
