Job Description
Overview Responsible for efficiently and accurately performing the duties which support activities of receiving and storage of items for use in production of dairy and drink related products.
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, off Sunday & Wednesday, overtime opportunity available (Temporary assignment for a period of 3-6 months and then will have the opportunity to move to the Cooler/Warehouse Department)
Pay Rate: $21.16 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Work under close supervision in a team setting in a fast-paced production environment.
- Identify and use proper packaging, labels, caps, etc. for various finished products and keep daily inventory for plant production use.
- Ensure quality and security of product, which includes but is not limited to bill of ladings, truck seals, code dates and proper packaging.
- Lift and move 600 lb. drums using a forklift.
- Ensure Filler Room is stocked with all required products for completion of a run, help with filling, moving, and weighing totes, loading and unloading trailers.
- Complete data sheets with all required documentation.
- Assist with warehouse inventory each month which will require working Saturday nights into Sunday mornings.
- Pick up mail and parts as needed.
- Must be willing to work in any other department as needed, including snow and ice removal from the property.
- Maintain proper housekeeping of work area.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and safe work practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Must possess a valid Class C driver's license.
- Forklift Certification is preferred, but not required.
- High School or GED is preferred, but not required.
- Must be capable of reading, understanding instructions, and have knowledge of basic math skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements - Ability to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. on occasion.
- Wet and slippery floor conditions.
- Must be able to stand and walk during the entire shift.
- Constant bending, lifting, reaching, pulling, and climbing ladders during an eight (8) or ten (10) hour shift.
