Email Specialist

The Email Specialist supports the planning, creation, deployment, and performance optimization of email campaigns and audience journeys for the ASU Foundation, ASU Alumni Association, and Alumni Engagement. This position executes high-quality email marketing within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, ensuring consistency with ASU brand standards and best practices while contributing to a data-informed approach to engagement and conversion.

What You'll Do
  • Build, test, and deploy emails in Salesforce Marketing Cloud for email campaigns.
  • Maintain and update email calendars to ensure accuracy and alignment across multiple brands and initiatives.
  • Support the setup and testing of data extensions, dynamic content blocks, and segmentation filters.
  • Assist with review processes by proofing, link checks, and rendering tests to ensure flawless execution.
  • Pull and compile performance reports to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborate with email managers, project managers, and other stakeholders on projects.
  • Ensure best practices are followed, including deliverability standards, accessibility, and CAN-SPAM compliance.
  • Stay current on email marketing trends and best practices.
  • Track work through project management tools and contribute to team documentation and process refinement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of email best practices, including accessibility, CAN-SPAM compliance, and responsive design.
  • Familiarity with audience segmentation, personalization, and data-driven communication.
  • Analytical skills and willingness to learn performance tracking and reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of AP style preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced digital marketing environment.
Relevant Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year of experience working with email marketing (Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred, but not required).
