About the role:

As an Estimator for our Craft Force division, you will play a critical role in supporting preconstruction efforts by delivering accurate, timely, and detailed cost estimates for commercial drywall projects. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, strong collaboration skills, and a customer-focused mindset.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop accurate estimates for commercial construction projects, with a focus on metal framing, drywall, and interior finishes.
  • Complete quantity take-offs and prepare bids using industry specific software and company-standard processes.
  • Provide clients with conceptual budgets throughout design phases with minimal design and project parameters.
  • Engage with clients and internal teams to meet all estimating needs for TCF projects, including development of estimates, budgets, change management, and job setups.
  • Collaborate with Project Coordinator to maintain up-to-date bidding logs and active project tracking.
  • Assist in evaluating new project opportunities in collaboration with the General Manager, considering team capacity and project fit.
  • Review constructability of early-phase projects to provide feedback to customers for budget development.
  • Foster strong working relationships across departments and with customers, ensuring a high level of communication and customer service.

What we're looking for:

  • 2+ years of estimating experience, preferably in a commercial drywall setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or architecture is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to read and understand all project documents, including specifications, prints, and scopes of work.
  • Experience with computerized take-off applications (e.g., Edge, On Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid) and Bluebeam.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive client focus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and participate as a functioning contributing member of bid and project teams as assigned.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to ever-changing situations.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and estimate multiple projects.
