**General Summary**
The experimental Test Pilot is responsible for planning, conduct, and reporting of development and certification flight test activities on Honda Aircraft Company products. They have an in-depth technical knowledge of flight test techniques and experience in aircraft certification documents and processes. Provides design input to the engineering team.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Write and/ or review development or certification test plans and reports for assigned flight tests.
- Participate in test readiness meetings.
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and short-term scheduling of tests to be performed on assigned test aircraft.
- Coordinate with flight test engineers as required ensuring the aircraft is configured properly to meet test objectives.
- Plan and conduct development and certification flight test activities on assigned airplane.
- Prepare and distribute flight reports after each assigned test flight.
- Perform FAA evaluation flights.
- Identify and report customer and certification issues to Program Management.
- Support Honda Aircraft production flight test and corporate flight activities on as-needed basis.
**Qualifications**
**Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure**
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technically related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- 10+ years of directly related experience.
- Commercial multi-engine with instrument rating (AMEL) and minimum: 1500 hours PIC total time, 1000 hours turbine aircraft time, 500 hours PIC turbine time
- FAA Second Class Medical certificate
- One of the following: Graduate of military Test Pilot school (pilot course), Graduate of civilian Test Pilot School (pilot long course), Minimum of five years of engineering flight test experience as a flight crew member.
- FAA Flight Test Pilot DER designation desired.
**Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities**
- Practical knowledge of flight test procedures and requirements pertaining to FAA Civil (14 CFR Part 23 and/or Part 25)
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
- Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
- Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
- Effectively communicate in Business English language.
- Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
- Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided reach assistance technology or movement assist technology (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dollys, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
