Job Description
Glass Installer Colorado Springs, CO $20.00 - $27.00 per hour (based on experience) Sign on bonus available! Summary Install Glass in vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards.
Essential Duties - Installs and repairs glass for vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
- Inserts precut glass in opening using either of following methods: Inserts precut molding into window opening around edges of glass and taps molding against glass edges, using hammer and wood block.
- Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
- Prepares vehicles for glass installation.
- Tacks molding to frame, using hammer or staple gun.
- Fastens glass into window opening, driving glazier's points into frame over glass, using point-driving tool.
- Presses and smooths putty into angle formed by glass and wood to make joint watertight, using putty knife.
- May spread sealing compound around edges of opening before inserting glass, using air gun or knife.
- May fit framed glass into openings in doors and screw frame to door, using screwdriver.
- May cut glass.
- Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
- Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
- Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
- Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
- Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Other tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
