The Worcester Art Museum is looking for an ambitious, community-focused individual to fill the role of Head Librarian. This full-time role will manage day-to-day operations of the library collection, respond to inquiries from both internal and external community members, and oversee the archive collection. As a key member of a growing department within a vibrant cultural organization, this position poses an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to a mission-driven organization that values innovation, inclusion, and access to knowledge.
While this role begins in a resource-constrained environment, it is designed with growth in mind. We’re looking for someone who can build with what’s available now and help shape what’s possible in the future. Our library serves the needs of the museum staff, the public, and institutions such as College of the Holy Cross. There will be opportunities for collaboration both within the museum and with the greater Worcester Community. As part of a collaborative organization, you will be part of interdepartmental projects and meetings, contributing insight into decisions being made within the museum as pertaining to the collections you will be overseeing. This role blends hands-on work with long-term vision, offering the chance to build something meaningful and lasting.
