Departmental Objective:Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining campus buildings utilizing the carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC trades as well as housekeeping and floor maintenance.
Purpose of the Position:This position will ensure the cleanliness of assigned areas by performing various housekeeping tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position:Knowledge of cleaning methods
Knowledge of cleaning materials Skilled in the use of housekeeping equipment Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs., tolerate frequent bending, stooping, and climbing stairs Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively and to maintain positive relations with faculty, staff and students Ability to work 3rd shift; Hours typically 9 pm 3 am, Monday Friday Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :Education : High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma.
Experience: Experience in cleaning methods and cleaning supplies. Additional Consideration(s):Experience: Previous experience working at a university. Experience using a buffer. Experience using a scrubbing machine.

Salary Information:Starting at $14.50 per hour, Commensurate with Education and Experience.
Conditions of Employment:This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period;
Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program; Selected candidate must have the ability to work 3rd shift; Hours typically 9 pm 3 am, Monday Friday; Selected candidate must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs., tolerate frequent bending, stooping, and climbing stairs.
