Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The University of Maryland Institute for Health Computing (IHC) seeks an Illustrator/Animator to generate 2D illustrations, infographics and 3D animations for research proposals, research papers, presentations, website content, and more. The Illustrator/Animator will create detailed, accurate, and aesthetically pleasing illustrations and animations that can effectively communicate complex concepts in medicine and computing. This position requires strong interpersonal skills; the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet budgets and timelines; and a dedication to producing high-quality, creative final products. The Illustrator/Animator will work onsite at the IHC offices in North Bethesda, Md. Experience: Three years of professional illustration experience. Preferences: Preferences: M.S. if certified Medical Illustrator or MFA. Three years of professional scientific, medical or technical illustration experience. Strong background in technical and scientific concepts. Proficiency in illustration and animation software programs (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate). Proficiency in 3D software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, cinema 4D, ZBrush, Mudbox) Superb illustration and animation skills.
