In your role, you may work from one of the following Medtronic sites: Mounds View, Minnesota; Boston, Massachusetts; Fridley, Minnesota (OHQ); Lafayette, Colorado; Irvine, California (UCI); Rice Creek, Minnesota; Jacksonville, Florida. As the Incident Response Manager, you will serve as a key member of the Global Cyber Information Security strategic leadership team and will act as a consensus builder, problem solver, and team leader for the overall security organization. You’ll play a critical role that requires an individual with a strong technical background as well as innate understanding of balancing security requirements with business objectives. You will act as an empowered team member with the CISO during planning and design initiatives to ensure security measures are incorporated into the global strategy and priorities are clearly understood/defined. This individual will lead a global team responsible for continuously monitoring Medtronic’s network and responding to cyber security threats, anomalies, and attacks in partnership with our 24x7 managed SOC. Key activities include providing thought leadership to a global team of analysts, engineers, threat hunters and incident responders; developing strategic roadmaps to support detection, defense, and resiliency processes; ensuring timely response and proper acumen to any cyber event; effectively working with and influencing a global team from both technology and the business as a key leader of the Global Cyber Information Security Office. Responsibilities also include leading the design of systems and processes for a global cybersecurity operation to have full visibility across the globe on cyber threats and alerting; driving the incident response plan for the organization enrolling leadership to follow a well-rehearsed plan when a cyber event occurs; managing detection and response capabilities including software, third party security operations center, and threat hunting; developing and enhancing an information security and cyber defense management framework; identifying and preparing response strategy for emerging technology such as deep fakes, and AI; coordinating and managing external relationships as it relates to security assessment services as well as incident response requirements; creating a roadmap for cyber security operations and identifying business threats within the current business environment and on key business decisions including mergers and acquisitions; interacting with a wide group of disciplines across the company such as risk and compliance team, corporate communications, legal, government affairs; building an ongoing enhancement roadmap and future direction of team and technology closely mapped to Medtronic’s strategy and overall technology initiatives and roadmaps. The role requires experience as Cybersecurity manager, leading a SOC team while liaising with technology, legal, and business teams through security incidents; creating and communicating regular threat briefings, intelligence communications for all areas of the Enterprise; experience leveraging standards like MITRE and NIST frameworks in the development and implementation of prevention, detection and incident response processes, standards and policies, including measuring their effectiveness; capability of developing long-term cybersecurity operations strategies aligned with business objectives and industry trends; recruiting, training, motivating, mentoring, leading, and retaining quality security team members; keeping up to date with the latest security and technology developments; researching/evaluating emerging security threats and ways to manage them; ensuring monitoring for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorized or illegal activity; engaging in 'ethical hacking'; identifying potential weaknesses and implementing measures such as firewalls and encryption; monitoring and responding to 'phishing' emails and 'pharming' activity; managing and leading a team of security professionals; partnering with key leadership, process, and project team members to define security capability needs, assessment and roadmap capability needs to enable business strategies; maintaining strong vendor relationships; accountable for maintaining responsible budgetary in area of responsibility; evaluating team performance and managing equitable promotional opportunities; contributing to and cultivating a culture which promotes the development of business capabilities, process excellence, and shared best practice execution; gathering, reviewing, assessing and partnering to drive new ideas, initiatives and projects through innovation, demand and global portfolio processes; fostering a positive, engaging and challenging team-focused ‘global’ work environment; proactively engaging with Medtronic business and Global IT partners to identify and define opportunities where the application of information technology can advance the strategic goals and objectives of Medtronic; acting as role model by “living” and demonstrating the Medtronic values.
