Key Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of metal cutting machining procedures, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout.
• Setup jobs and tools as instructed per shop order, print, and/or customer spec.
• Working with various types of fixturing, tooling, etc.
• Read and comprehend g-code programs.
• Must be able to read and interpret basic manufacturing drawings and understand basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance standard (GD&T).
• Make adjustments to the tool compensation values in the machine control to keep the machine features within process control limits.
• Optimize Speeds and Feeds to produce quality parts.
• Document changes and provide feedback to the Programming Supervisor.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments.
• Document in-process inspection.
• Report non-conformities to the Supervisor.
• Work directly with department leads and engineering to run part specific process instructions.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 1-2 years of CNC Machine shop experience.
• Experience with FANUC vertical axis machine preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Previous experience as a Machine Operator or Machinist in a CNC shop preferred.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED or Trade school diploma.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, push, move upto 50lbs safely.

Equipment Used:

• Various hand tools, such as: Calipers, micrometers, scales, gauges, etc.

Qualities Preferred:

• Ability to comprehend written and/or verbal instructions and also have the ability to multi-task.
