Job Description

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join the Cell Culture and Media Development (CCMD) team, part of the Pre-Clinical Manufacturing and Process Development (PMPD) department in Tarrytown, NY. This role involves supporting routine laboratory tasks crucial to the core mission of CCMD, including performing daily bioreactor lab operations, preparing media and buffers, and maintaining bioreactor equipment and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily routine tasks such as managing inventory and preparing buffers/media, with accurate recording in electronic lab notebooks.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
• Support the cultivation of mammalian cells using aseptic technique in bioreactors to produce monoclonal antibodies and other therapeutic proteins.
• Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
• Collaborate with the Cell Culture team to identify workflow bottlenecks and propose new solutions within lab operations.
• Be adaptable to learning and supporting additional activities as required.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or Associates Degree in science or engineering.
• Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
• 0-2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience in process development, cell culture, or media preparation is a plus.
• Experience in inventory management is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with weekend work required on both Saturday and Sunday. The position involves 40 hours per week. This is a Contract position based out of Tarrytown, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
