A light industrial worker is a person who works in a factory or warehouse, producing and packaging items that are used daily in modern society, such as clothing, electronics, shoes, parts, or even food. They are an integral part of our society 1. The top skills needed to become a light industrial worker are attention to detail, self-motivation, and strong teamwork skills. Some light industrial workers need to be OSHA certified, and they must be able to deal with an environment that can be demanding and noisy. Light industrial work spans several industries, meaning you could be working in food production, automobile part assembly, home furnishings, and more 2. A light industrial worker’s job duties may include setting up and operating production machinery, assembling goods on conveyor belts, storing finished goods, communicating issues to upper management, performing quality assurance tests, handling and installing materials, operating and repairing production and industrial equipment, operating jackhammers and drills, loading and unloading building materials, and more
