Job Title: News Anchor WINK News, the trusted news leader in Southwest Florida, is seeking a dynamic and experienced News Anchor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong on-air presence, exceptional storytelling skills, and the ability to connect with our audience. This position requires someone who is committed to delivering accurate, compelling, and impactful news content. Key Responsibilities: Anchor weekday newscasts, ensuring accurate and engaging delivery of news stories. Collaborate with producers, reporters, and other newsroom staff to develop and present news content that resonates with our audience. Write and edit news scripts for accuracy, clarity, and conciseness. Participate in editorial meetings to discuss story ideas, provide input. Engage with viewers through social media platforms. Represent WINK News at community events and public appearances, fostering positive relationships with viewers and stakeholders. Stay informed about local, national, and international news events, maintaining a high level of journalistic integrity and ethics. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a News Anchor or Reporter in a medium to large market. Exceptional on-air presence with strong vocal delivery and presentation skills. Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle breaking news situations calmly and effectively. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge of the Southwest Florida region and its key issues and events is a plus. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
