Job Description
Ivy Tech Evansville seeks a part-time library assistant to assist in the daily operations of the library.
Major Responsibilities:
- Shelves library materials, performs shelf reading and other maintenance of library items.
- Assists patrons in using PCs, both software and hardware basics.
- Performs circulation functions for all library materials
- Assists in maintaining a neat and clean library
- Assists in the processing of patron communications
- Keeps the librarian apprised of any requests, problems, or repair needs as they arise.
- General clerical duties, data entry.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to hear, talk, see, read, write, and type on a constant basis.
- Requires frequent bending, stooping, and standing.
- Requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds on an infrequent basis.
Tools/Equipment Used:
- Operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and printer
- Use and speak on a telephone.
Mental Requirements:
- Ability to use problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to understand and remember instructions, requests and directives.
- Ability to work independently from supervisor.
- Requires sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic background of college students and employees.

Hiring Range:
- This position pays $15.00 per hour.
Work Hours:
- The schedule for this role is generally for normal business hours in the morning only on weekdays.

Minimum Qualifications:
- high school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of computers and word processing
- This is an in-person position at our campus in Evansville, IN. Remote work is not available.
