Print Production Manager

We are seeking an experienced Print Production Manager to lead our high-volume legal print operations. This role requires a hands-on leader with proven management experience in a printing environment, with strong organizational skills who can manage daily production activities, optimize workflows, and build strong team relationships. Reporting to the Director or Vice President of Operations, the Print Production Manager balances operational oversight with active involvement on the production floor to deliver quality results and drive continuous improvement, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional results under tight deadlines.

Compensation: $31 to $33 per hour, based on experience

Location: Onsite- Phoenix, AZ 85016

Schedule : Mon- Fri 8am to 5pm, (must have flexibility for overtime)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day high-volume print production operations.
  • Provide hands-on support with legal print jobs, finishing, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Oversee workflow, scheduling, and staff assignments to ensure projects are completed on time and at the highest quality.
  • Ensure quality checks are performed throughout the production process.
  • De-escalate issues with professionalism, maintaining a welcoming and client-focused environment.
  • Maintain site readiness, including equipment functionality, supplies, and workspace organization.
  • Assist as backup support for reception coverage and conference room setups when needed.

Essential Job Functions

Operational Leadership

  • Lead and manage day-to-day high-volume print production operations.
  • Provide hands-on support with print jobs, finishing, and troubleshooting equipment issues as needed.
  • Oversee workflow, scheduling, and staff assignments to meet tight deadlines and service standards.
  • Ensure quality checks are completed at every stage of production to maintain accuracy and client satisfaction.
  • De-escalate situations with professionalism and tact, maintaining positive team interactions.
  • Maintain site readiness, ensuring equipment, supplies, and workspaces are fully operational.
  • Foster a welcoming and professional environment for both clients and staff.

Client Relationship Management

  • Understand client requirements and deliver customized, high-quality print solutions.
  • Communicate proactively to ensure satisfaction, address concerns, and identify opportunities for growth.

Process Improvement

  • Streamline print production processes to maximize efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Monitor KPIs, quality standards, and turnaround times to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve service delivery.

Client Satisfaction & Value-Add

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness on all print and mail projects.
  • Recommend cost-saving initiatives and production enhancements.
  • Provide reporting and insights to client leadership.

Finance & Compliance

  • Manage budgets, expenses, and resource allocation to support operational goals.
  • Ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and reporting for print production services.
  • Maintain compliance with all service agreements and company policies.

Team Management & Development

  • Recruit, train, and supervise a high-performing print production team.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to ensure accountability and growth.
  • Encourage cross-training and foster a collaborative, client-focused culture.

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years of previous managerial or supervisory experience in a printing role is in a high-volume print production role, preferably with a law firm.
  • Hands-on experience with print equipment, finishing processes, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of high-volume print production and finishing processes.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, welcoming personality with strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of print software and equipment preferred.
  • Willingness to work on-site and flexibility to work overtime if needed.
