Stephens Direct is looking for an experienced proofreader to be an integral part of our team. This position requires a highly collaborative and exceptionally detail-oriented individual who can review and improve projects at various points in the process, from concept to production.

The successful candidate must have these qualifications:

· Exceptional writing and editing skills

· Experience evaluating work against brand guidelines and normal usage

· The desire to become a brand advocate for our many world-class brands 

· An ability to verify work based on research and source verification

· An exceptional collaborator

· An ability to suggest and spearhead process improvements

· An ability to work well as part of a team

· A tech-forward attitude to work within an electronic proofing/job management system

· Familiarity with Adobe products (for markups)

· Knowledge of AP style

· An innate curiosity and desire to grow

· Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced, results-driven agency environment

· Be able to handle multiple projects for multiple clients during the same timeframe

· A willingness to work occasional late hours and weekends as client needs dictate (minimal but it does happen)

· Knowledge of Spanish (desired)

Qualifications/Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or equivalent is required

· 2+ years demonstrated success in proofing marketing communications, preferably in an agency setting

· Copywriting skills a plus

• Must be flexible and adaptive to meet changing needs or direction
• An ability to work in a hybrid role when we return to the office is preferred
