Location: Houston, Texas (Hybrid/Onsite)

Overview:

Our Fortune 200 client, a leader in environmental and waste management services, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Python/AWS Developer to join the Revenue Management Customer Team . This role will be instrumental in driving a cutting-edge analytics and pricing engine leveraging AWS and Python for enterprise-scale data processing and insights.

You will be part of a new initiative to develop advanced models for pricing and revenue optimization—critical to the company’s evolving business strategy. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical proficiency and experience working in complex cloud-based environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications using AWS and Python .
  • Lead and contribute to technical architecture and software design discussions.
  • Analyze business processes and requirements to deliver robust technical solutions that align with enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices around clean, modular, and reusable code.
  • Apply observability and monitoring standards using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other tools to ensure system reliability.
  • Leverage CI/CD and DevOps practices to deliver high-quality software in iterative sprints.
  • Support integration efforts using REST APIs , batch, real-time, and asynchronous data flows.
  • Ensure application performance, security, and scalability, particularly for customer-facing analytical tools.
  • Translate business needs into technical deliverables and proactively troubleshoot issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Python for data processing, APIs, and backend systems.
  • Hands-on AWS experience with services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, EFS, IAM, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, Glue, and CloudFormation.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases : Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Cassandra.
  • Strong understanding of Big Data tools: Spark, Glue.
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
  • Solid understanding of networking and security in AWS (VPC, CIDR, SG, WAF, SSO, MFA).
  • Experience with event-driven and microservices architecture .
  • Familiarity with DevOps and MLOps practices and tools.
  • Proficiency in observability tools such as CloudWatch, EventBridge, and DataDog.
  • Good to have: Shell scripting, Angular, Node.js .
  • Knowledge of enterprise-grade software methodologies , Agile/Scrum, and domain-driven design.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities effectively.
