Job Description
We are looking for a React Native Developer who can build and maintain a modular, component-based mobile application. Our architecture emphasizes clean separation of presentation and business logic, with screens, layouts, and components serving purely as the UI layer while all state management and API calls are handled through an engine/SDK connected to context. A critical part of the role will be translating designs from Figma Dev tools into a pixel-perfect, user-friendly interface.
Responsibilities
UI Development & Figma Handoffs
Translate designs from Figma Dev tools into responsive, reusable React Native screens, layouts, and components.
Ensure consistent styling, spacing, and interactions in line with design specifications.
SDK/Engine Development
Build and maintain the engine/SDK responsible for state management, API integrations, and data handling.
Implement context providers to supply data to the presentation layer, ensuring seamless communication between UI and business logic.
API Integration & State Management
Connect the app to various back-end services and APIs exclusively through the engine/SDK layer.
Establish a connection to an API gateway websocket to stream data directly into the context.
Ensure robust, real-time data flow that updates the UI dynamically using modern React patterns (e.g., Context API).
Performance & Optimization
Identify bottlenecks in the UI or SDK layers and propose optimizations to maintain smooth performance.
Implement best practices in code splitting, lazy loading, and resource management.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for both the presentation layer (UI) and the engine/SDK.
Collaboration & Code Review
Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback on code style, architecture, and performance.
Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver features on time.
Documentation & Maintenance
Document the engine/SDK interfaces, data flow, and architectural decisions.
Maintain a scalable, well-documented codebase for future team members and ongoing development.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
Proficiency in React Native (JavaScript/TypeScript).
Experience building modular apps with a clear separation of presentation (screens/components) and business logic (SDK/engine).
Solid understanding of state management techniques (Context API) Familiarity with RESTful API integrations.
Ability to work with Figma Dev tools and translate design specs into production-ready components.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines with Fastlane and version control (Git).
Professional Experience
2–5 years of professional experience in mobile app development with React Native.
Track record of architecting or contributing significantly to an SDK/engine layer in a mobile or web application.
Experience in building or integrating real-time features (e.g., chat) is a plus.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work in an agile, requirements lead environment and deliver high-quality code.
Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.
