Overview:

Our client is a fast-growing food supply warehouse that operates with the speed and precision of an e-commerce giant—think Amazon, but for food. They specialize in high-volume distribution of packaged and perishable food items, serving restaurants, retailers, and institutions across the region. We’re hiring a Receiving & Inventory Specialist to join the warehouse team. This role is responsible for receiving inbound shipments, verifying inventory, and ensuring accurate storage and documentation. Ideal candidates will have forklift experience, inventory control skills, and a background in food handling or manufacturing.

Skills and Experience:

Experience
• 2+ years of warehouse receiving experience
• Proven forklift operation (sit-down); valid certification preferred
• Hands-on experience with inventory control and stock reconciliation
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP platforms
• Prior work in food supply, food service, or food manufacturing environments
• Experience with cycle counts and physical inventory audits
• Comfortable working in high-volume, fast-paced distribution centers
• Knowledge of FIFO/LIFO inventory methods and food safety protocols (GMP, HACCP)

Skills
• Forklift and pallet jack operation
• Accurate receiving, inspection, and documentation of shipments
• Inventory tracking and data entry using digital systems
• Organization and storage of food items by category and temperature requirements
• Communication and coordination with purchasing, logistics, and quality teams
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Attention to detail and problem-solving in identifying discrepancies
• Basic computer literacy (email, spreadsheets, inventory software)
• Strong teamwork and reliability in shift-based operations
• Adherence to food safety, sanitation, and warehouse protocols
