Position Description:
Reports to the iPERMS Program Operations Manager. The Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) System Administrator (SA) will support and troubleshoot RHEL issues relating to performance and compliance. Assists in managing all aspects of information technology system security as it applies to the Risk Management Framework. Conducts investigations in anomalies found during audit trail analysis. Assists with regular vulnerability scans, improvements, and patching of RHEL systems. Investigates and resolves RHEL problems. Uses skills, knowledge, and resources to diagnose, determine, and solve RHEL related problems. Stays current with RHEL developments. Helps prepare for IT hardware replacements and upgrades. Maintains and enforces Government computer and information security policies and procedures. Interfaces with the customer, other team members, and the private sector on an as needed basis. Provides support to the organizational Information Assurance team as required. Performs various administration duties as required.
