Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery Circulator - Ortho and General - Short Term Assignment at Norman Regional Health System summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role functions as a Surgery Circulator for various surgical procedures including orthopedic and general surgeries. This short-term position involves collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, providing comprehensive patient care, and requiring a current Oklahoma RN license. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in nursing, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to patient safety and teamwork in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Overview:

Compensation

• 13 week short term agreement.
• $65.00 an hour flat rate.
• No benefits. 

We have 10 brand new, state of the art, operating rooms for general surgery, colorectal, breast and plastic surgery reconstruction, urology, robotics, and neurosurgery cases located in the ACC at Norman Regional Hospital. Our nurses demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, and critical thinking skills while caring for a wide range of patient types. We orient new nurses to each of our surgical areas, spending time with dedicated preceptors in each area. Upon completion of orientation, nurses will be able to circulate general surgery, colorectal, breast and plastic surgery reconstruction, urology, robotics, and neurosurgery cases as well as a wide variety of other service lines. Responsibilities:

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data,

• Establishing goals, planning care strategy, establishing priorities of care, implementing care,

• Delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, evaluating responses to interventions, and

• Performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.

• In collaboration with the physician you will provide total patient nursing care by assisting, leading, and/or directing care with a multi-disciplinary team of care providers.

• Cares for all ages of patients; infant to geriatric.

Qualifications:

Education

• Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
