As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Gardner, KS , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entrances and exits within a manufacturing and industrial location. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and assisting with access procedures, all while delivering excellent customer service and clear communication. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Control access to the location by verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity within the manufacturing and industrial environment.
  • Provide customer service by assisting employees, visitors, and contractors with access-related inquiries and directions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures and Allied Universal protocols.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports of access control activities and any incidents that occur during the shift.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to observe conditions and report any irregularities.
  • Support emergency response activities as required, including following evacuation or lockdown procedures when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with site management and Allied Universal team members to address security-related concerns and recommend improvements to access control processes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
