Job Description:
The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting functions for multiple clients. This includes managing daily financial transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and supporting month-end and year-end processes. The individual in this role will maintain the integrity of financial data, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for assigned clients, including recording journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling accounts.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain cash flow records and assist with bank reconciliations and balance sheet analysis.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure proper classification of expenses and accurate financial reporting.
• Provide insight and recommendations to improve financial procedures and internal controls.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other analytical projects as needed.
• Coordinate with external accountants or auditors to support tax filings and compliance requirements.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation for all client records.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Experience:
• 4+ years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a client-facing or outsourced accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience working with multiple entities or clients simultaneously is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar ERP systems.
Skills and Abilities:
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
