The opportunity:
- Conceptualize business requirements to predict the fields and build prototypes/data models for demand and supply planning
- Design, develop and implement data pipelines, data processing, data warehouse and data analytics systems.
- Manage integrations and environments and optimize for scale to meet the enterprise security standard.
- Guide or support teams and stakeholders on data-related projects, strategies, and models to develop solutions that help us operate more efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Collect and organize data, troubleshoot technical issues, provide training.
- Develop data knowledge by sourcing, scoping, profiling, and modeling source systems of record data.
- Oversee the documentation, implementation, data architecture and related business processes.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
- Implement data analytics and modeling for ‘Forecast to Plan’ workstream for O9 Demand and Supply planning implementation.
- Support the business on Data Center of Excellence and Data Governance practices.
- Utilize migration best practices for integrating acquired company data.
- Engage with our business partners to identify data-driven opportunities and develop corresponding predictive/prescriptive models to solve business problems.
- Conduct dimensional modeling, data cleaning and querying.
- Responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and then sharing insights.
What you need to succeed:
- At least 5 years of experience in Analytics, data modeling, data science, data querying, and data visualization through use of analytics process automation and data visualization tools and languages such as Alteryx, Power BI, Qlik, or Tableau
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Must be comfortable with un-structured, fast moving and constantly evolving environment.
- Ability to create visual representations of data to help in communicating insights effectively
- Analyze large data sets and use programming languages such as Java, Python, and/or R to develop statistical and optimization models to drive business solutions.
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Committed team player who is proactive, takes ownership over the success of their projects, and works hard to support those around them.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to define complex Analytics strategies, communicate and present Analytics strategies, and align stakeholders with strategic Analytics objectives and the resources required to implement.
- Not required but good to have experience enhancing large-scale optimization models supporting the supply chain organization.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support business ad-hoc tasks based on priority
