Position: Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

Location: Lakeland, FL 33811 (Hybrid primarily remote, with occasional onsite presence 3 5 times per year)

Type: 6 12 Month Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join our growing cloud team. This individual will serve as the technical SME for automation, cloud optimization, and CI/CD pipeline management. You'll partner with our Lead DevOps Engineer (2 years in role) to enhance scalability, security, and reliability across our Azure-based infrastructure.

This is an opportunity for a "cream of the crop" engineer - someone proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of anticipating and resolving issues before they escalate.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions .
• Manage and optimize Azure infrastructure, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Docker -based workloads.
• Develop and automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform , ARM templates , and scripting languages.
• Write and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash (Python is a plus).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline deployments and improve system reliability.
• Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Mentor and guide team members in DevOps best practices and automation techniques.
• Stay current with Azure and DevOps ecosystem advancements to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer.
• Expert-level scripting proficiency in PowerShell and Bash (must be stellar).
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Azure (preferred cloud environment)
  • Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Docker containerization
  • Terraform (IaC)
  • GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD tools
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate issues and create preemptive solutions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in small, high-impact teams.

Preferred

• Azure Certifications : Microsoft Certified Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect.
• Familiarity with Python for automation scripting.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of Prometheus , Grafana , or Azure Monitor for observability.
