Overview

Senior Client Manager-Public Sector (GOV and NGO's) role at Swiss Re . Our dedicated Public Sector Solutions (PSS) team serves Public Sector clients and brokers with risk insights, data analytics, and risk transfer solutions. By connecting public sector brokers and clients to the full capabilities of the Swiss Re Group, we turn needs into outcomes and build resilience for governments and beyond.

About the Role

You will be responsible for originating business and managing client relationships with public sector clients in the US to deliver opportunities for Swiss Re Group including, but not limited to Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions, Alternative Capital Partners, and Risk Data Solutions (the tool and consulting arm of Swiss Re Group) aligned with growth priorities and target liability portfolios. The role requires close coordination with the Business Units where underwriting and P&L authority sits, and collaboration with Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Risk Management, and Swiss Re Institute. This role requires leadership and readiness to deputise for the Head PSS US on varied management tasks.

Key Responsibilities


  • Take ownership of the implementation, coordination and delivery of the US go-to-market plans, refining and evolving them for success.
  • Deliver revenue and profitability targets for US PSS business.
  • Lead origination activity through consultative selling in the assigned US geography/client segment, engaging public sector stakeholders, brokers and insurance partners to work with Swiss Re.
  • Execute end-to-end client management and business origination activities, identify risks, and discontinue non-viable initiatives, executing the PSS go-to-market plan for the US.
  • Engage with public sector clients to understand risk needs, advising on contingent liabilities and potential risk transfer solutions.
  • Engage with brokers, non-profits, international organizations and platforms, and other stakeholders to drive origination.
  • Collaborate with PSS Technical Sales Team, BU Underwriters, and Customer Distribution Management to develop risk insights and tailored solutions, leading cross-functional deal teams.
  • Elevate Swiss Res visibility and credibility by participating in industry, client and stakeholder events relevant to public sector partners in the US.
  • Utilize marketing and social media channels to enhance visibility, outreach, and engagement with public sector stakeholders.
  • Support operational and compliance risk management for the US by identifying exposures and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide timely, accurate reporting of pipeline activity for public sector business in the US.
  • Nurture and develop junior team members across geographies, supporting their upskilling and growth within the PSS team.


Qualifications
  • Proven success in originating and developing business in a public sector or non-life re/insurance context (full ownership from opportunity qualification to execution), ideally in the USA, with at least 5+ years in a relevant public sector role.
  • Ability to use data and commercial insight to shape origination strategy and drive outcomes.
  • Autonomous, accountable, and focused self-starter with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Client-centric and persistent, with demonstrated ability to navigate and negotiate with multiple external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, able to lead and coordinate cross-functional deal teams including underwriting, pricing, compliance, etc.
  • Excellence in follow-up actions and transaction management.
  • Public sector or broker network in the US is an advantage; ability to travel extensively within the US.
  • In-office presence aligned with Swiss Re's hybrid work environment.
  • Fluency in English.



Compensation and Work Model

The base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $269,000. The specific salary offered depends on location, scope, qualifications, and experience. Swiss Re considers total compensation including base pay, incentives, and benefits.

Our company has a hybrid work model with in-office presence three days per week. This role is not eligible for relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.
