About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our growing Data Analytics team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across the organization. As a hands-on expert in data analysis and a strategic thinker, you will partner with cross-functional teams to enable Skydios Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, Product, and Finance functions. You will be instrumental in building reliable, scalable data infrastructure and delivering analytics solutions that directly impact business system optimization, time to market, productivity, and profitability.

How you'll make an impact
  • Assist in managing our data warehouse, building schemas, tables (events, aggregated, views), and automating workflows in an Airflow-like environment.
  • Expand ETL processes for data warehouse ingestion by aggregating data from various business systems (e.g., Fivetran, Databricks, AWS, Tableau, Ascend) and internally developed databases.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Finance, to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that inform business strategy and decision-making.
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports to provide real-time analytics and monitoring across various business functions.
  • Contribute to building data-driven models for financial, operational, and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure proper documentation of data schemas, metrics, and reports.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify opportunities for optimization, growth, and enhanced business performance.
  • Work with data engineers to maintain data integrity, ensuring scalability and automation in data pipelines.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize business systems, improving productivity and profitability across the company.
What makes you a good fit
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis in a high-growth technology environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining data pipelines from ETL to automation and anomaly alerts, preferably with Fivetran, Airflow, and Databricks.
  • Advanced understanding of AWS (e.g., Terraform, S3, IAM) and Databricks, including cluster management with infrastructure-as-code as a bonus.
  • Proven ability to write, test, and debug code, primarily in SQL and Python.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to break down complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Expertise in SQL for querying large datasets and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Databricks.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights and solutions.
  • Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
