Our challenge

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Python Developer with over 8+ years of professional experience, including some experience in the Capital Market domain. Candidate will play a crucial role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining sophisticated risk management and trading systems. Candidate expertise will help innovate and improve our financial technology solutions in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with the law, the base salary for this role if filled within Iselin, NJ is $100K to $110K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Python-based applications focused on risk analysis, market data, and trading platforms.
• Collaborate closely with traders, quants, and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Develop algorithms for strategic trading and risk management, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Work on all stages of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Utilize libraries such as NumPy and SciPy for numerical computations and data analysis.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to industry standards.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and foster best practices.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
• Support integration with front-end technologies if needed and help optimize backend services.

Requirements:

• Over 8+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on Python.
• Some experience working within the Capital Markets or financial industry.
• Strong proficiency in Python, including libraries like NumPy, SciPy, and related tools.
• Experience developing risk systems, market data applications, or trading platforms.
• Solid understanding of financial products, risk analysis, and trading workflows.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred, but not required:

• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, or JavaScript, especially when working on web-based interfaces.
• Familiarity with web frameworks like Django or Flask.
• Experience with database systems, both relational and non-relational, such as SQL and MongoDB.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
