Position Overview

We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) level SharePoint Administrator to join the Office of Technology and Strategic Services. This role is pivotal in designing, maintaining, and guiding the progression of a robust SharePoint environment for the Mississippi Department of Education.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of leveraging optimal workflows to align technology with organizational business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Administration: Lead the design and maintenance of Microsoft SharePoint Server Online environments.
• Identity & Access Management: Manage security permissions and best practices for farm design using Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
• Connectivity & Collaboration: Oversee Entra ID Connect and manage B2B guest user access to ensure secure external collaboration.
• Workflow Optimization: Develop and guide the implementation of SharePoint workflows to streamline business processes.
• Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation for system configurations, governance, and user guides.
• Strategic Guidance: Act as a consultant to the agency, providing expert recommendations on SharePoint's progression and optimal utilization.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of qualified experience as a SharePoint Administrator.
• Technical Expertise: Thorough, hands-on experience with Microsoft SharePoint Server Online.
• Identity Management: Advanced knowledge of Entra ID, including Entra ID Connect and B2B guest access protocols.
• Security & Infrastructure: Deep understanding of farm design best practices and complex security permission structures.
• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Power Automate for advanced workflow automation.
• Experience in government or large-scale public sector environments
