Job Description
A dedicated Special Education Teacher is needed for the 2025/2026 school year at a middle school setting, focusing on a self-contained CDC classroom. This contract position starts on August 1, 2025, and involves providing specialized instruction and support to a small caseload of six students with diverse and significant needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Downs Syndrome, and medical fragility in a self-contained classroom.
- Collaborate with support staff, including nursing personnel, to ensure students health and safety during the school day.
- Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and adapt teaching strategies to meet each students unique learning requirements.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and engagement.
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams regarding student progress and needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience teaching middle school students in a self-contained setting preferred.
- Knowledge and experience working with students with ASD, Downs Syndrome, and medically fragile conditions.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with nurses and other support professionals.
Schedule & Location:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Middle school setting in Cleveland, TN.
- Position covers the full 2025/2026 school year.
