Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day

Pay: Starting at $65,000 DOQ
Benefits: Great benefits package that includes health, dental, pension, 403b match, etc Summary: The Special Education Coordinator will manage oversight and provide direction relating to due process and instruction to identified special education staff. The Special Education Coordinator will also provide support to staff in centerbase classrooms.
Required Qualifications: - Current license in special education, or related services, by the State of Minnesota
- Master's degree and at least 4 years of experience working with students with disabilities; specifically students on the autism spectrum and/or with cognitive disabilities.
- Experience with coordination, consultation and/or coaching of staff.
- Knowledge of MN/Federal laws related to due process
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms
Preferred Qualifications: - Special Education Administrative licensure preferred
- Experience with staff development and curriculum development
- Computer proficiency
Responsibilities: - Assist in monitoring due process timelines, provide support and guidance to staff needing additional due process direction.
- Coordinate and facilitate mandated due process file reviews through The Minnesota Department of Education.
- Consult with program staff on the development and provision for the implementation of effective programs required by the targeted student population, including program design and philosophy; curriculum and instructional methodology; program evaluation activities; and, interagency activities.
- Collect and maintain management information necessary for completion of local, state and federal reports and the analysis of staffing needs and funding.
- Serve as district representative, when appropriate.
- Coordinate with Student Services Supervisors on placement of incoming and exiting special education students for district-wide programs and for out of district programs.
- Assist families and staff members with issues related to complaints or grievances, and implement the appropriate conflict resolution system.
- Promote both internal and external awareness and understanding of needs of and programs for students with disabilities.
- Communicate with Special Education staff regarding the latest state due process changes.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
