Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with both inpatient and outpatient experience for a day shift assignment in a critical access hospital setting.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a 25-bed critical access hospital with both inpatient and outpatient therapy services
• Patient caseload includes swing beds, ICU, Med/Surg, orthopedics, and a cardiac cath lab
• Level IV trauma emergency room exposure
• Care for patients including those with COVID-19 as needed
• Day shift schedule from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday
• Weekend and holiday shifts may be required as needed by the department
• Scrubs required with no specific color mandated
• Responsible for providing therapeutic interventions to a diverse patient population in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• May work with patients in a variety of units including ICU, Med/Surg, and orthopedics
• Team structure supports multidisciplinary care delivery
• Adherence to department protocols for treating COVID-positive patients is required
• Orientation and training tailored to individual experience will be provided
• Holiday and weekend coverage will be scheduled based on departmental needs
• Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel candidates

\n \n Requirements\n

• Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current state Occupational Therapy Assistant license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a COTA, preferably 1-2 years
• National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy certification preferred
• AOTA and OTAC membership preferred
