Overnight Transportation Supervisor (8PM to 5AM)

• Job Type:  Direct Hire/Perm
• Location:  Seattle WA (SODO/ Industrial District) 
• Availability:  Immediately open/available.

We are currently seeking an experienced Transportation Supervisor  for an overnight shift in our facility in the SODO/Industrial District, just north of the airport, who will be responsible for overseeing the night shift/overnight operations of the transportation department including driver routing/tracking, operations leadership and planning, and prep duties for the first/Early day shift 

This day to day work will include managing a team of 15-25 Drivers, shipping/material handling folks, trucking route tracking/changes, and delivery activities as well as ensuring efficient fleet management. 

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have experience in trucking and delivery operations, ideally from previous driver or similar experience, so that they can LEAD BY EXAMPLE.

Key Responsibilities:

• - Manage and supervise night shift/overnight operations of the transportation department
• - Oversee shipping, trucking, and delivery activities to ensure timely and efficient service
• - Monitor and maintain fleet management, including scheduling and maintenance
• - Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• - Train and mentor transportation staff, including drivers and support staff
• - Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards
• - Handle any issues or concerns that arise during the night shift/overnight operations

Qualifications:

• - At least 3, or more, years of experience as a Transportation Supervisor, Shipping Supervisor, or Trucking and Delivery Supervisor.
• - Strong knowledge and experience in trucking and delivery operations
• - Valid CDL (Commercial Drivers License) is HIGHLY DESIRED, but is not an ABSOLUTE dealbreaker.
• - Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role
• - Excellent leadership and communication skills
• - Ability to work overnight shifts and weekends, or emergencies, as needed.
• - Knowledge of outbound scheduling and logistics
• - Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety standards, including HOURS OF SERVICE, etc.
• - Proficient in vaious computer based tech, including ideally esperience with an AS400 sytem, any experience with GREENMILE, or GEOTAB for trucking management, and Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs.
