Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Web Developer I to join our team. This entry-level role reports to the Lead Web Developer for Application, Web, and Mobile Development. In this role, you'll work closely with the Marketing and Communications team and other areas within IT to develop and support web properties, primarily using Drupal and WordPress platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, test, and manage modules and plugins within the Drupal platform.
Develop wireframes and core site structures using Drupal.
Adjust site parameters as needed to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with mobile developers to ensure a responsive web design across devices.
Work with digital accessibility specialists to ensure the website and microsites are accessible.
Follow secure coding practices to create safe and reliable websites.
Partner with Marketing and Communications on web development projects and enhancements.
Manage projects effectively, communicate status updates, and develop detailed documentation and application guides.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic understanding of web development and design principles.
Familiarity with content management systems such as Drupal and WordPress.
Knowledge of PHP, YML, and Composer.
General understanding of distributed computing architectures (e.g., Client/Server, Internet/Intranet).
Familiarity with web standards and accessibility requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle diverse tasks and data.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and organize tasks efficiently.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree.
At least one year of experience in Drupal or WordPress development or equivalent coursework.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
Ability to provide technical support to diverse clients.

Working Environment:

Standard office environment with occasional interruptions and moderate to high stress levels.
Quiet to moderate noise levels.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
Occasional movement around the office or campus, with the capability to transport objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
This position is eligible for remote work.
