AEITS, Inc., a GTSC company, is growing its team! Seeking a Web Services Systems Engineer to support our customer in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland

All work is on-site. This is not a hybrid or remote position.

Schedule: Day Shift - Mon-Fri

Mission: As a Web Services Systems Engineer supporting this government program, your mission focuses on Installation and Configuration, Monitoring and Performance Tuning, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Security Management, and Backup and Recovery.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Fourteen (14) years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree, else 19 years of experience if a high school/GED graduate.

Certifications:

  • IAT Level 2, such as CompTIA Security+ CE; Training Not Acceptable to Meet CE Requirement.
  • Relevant certification(s) such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Red Hat System Administrator (RHSA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with monitoring tools and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
  • Relevant certification(s) such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Red Hat System Administrator (RHSA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, DNS, SSL/TLS, and web security practices.

You are responsible for:

  • Installation and Configuration: Install and configure web server software (e.g., Apache, Nginx, IIS) and related components. Maintenance and Upgrades: Regularly update and patch web servers to ensure they are secure and performing optimally.
  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and potential issues.
  • Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect web servers from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Backup and Recovery: Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability in case of server failure.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development and IT teams to support web application deployments and ensure smooth operation.
  • User Support: Provide support to users and developers for web server-related issues and inquiries.
  • Ticket-Based Support: Manage and resolve support tickets in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring user satisfaction.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with users and stakeholders, addressing their concerns, and providing solutions. Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline server management tasks.
  • Compliance: Ensure that web server operations comply with organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Maintain compliance with DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) standards and guidelines

Education and Required Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree with a technical focus is required and Fourteen (14) years of demonstrated combined experience in DoD program management or relevant experience; or,
  • High-School Diploma or GED and Nineteen (19) years of demonstrated combined experience in DoD program management or relevant experience.

Travel

· Less than 10% travel may occur.
