Your Role And Responsibilities IBM Cloud offers a unified platform that gives you cloud computing any way you want it, deployed on demand, with a single pane of glass for systems management (one portal; one Application Programming Interface (API)).
IBM is currently recruiting for Data Center Specialists to join the Cloud team.
Essential Duties - Rack, build, cable, configure, and provision Intel and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) servers
- Rack, cable, and deploy Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment
- Troubleshoot, test, quality assurance of server hardware
- Professionally resolve hardware issues via trouble ticket
Preferred Education Associate's Degree/College Diploma
Required Technical And Professional Expertise - Operating System Installation Windows Server, Linux, Unix
- Rack, cable, and deploy Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment a plus
- Web Server and Database installation experience a plus
- Must be able to work in this country without company sponsorship
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be willing to learn quickly, multi-task, and work in a fast pace environment
- Moderate knowledge of PC hardware concepts and component installation.
- Basic knowledge of various internet-related services and software (mail, web, DNS, etc).
- General understanding of computer networking concepts.
- Customer focused attitude with some previous customer service experience.
- Network wiring/cabling experience.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience - 3-5 years’ experience with Windows and Linux Platforms
- 3-5 years’ experience with computer/server hardware
