Overview:
George McKenna Electrical is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee and manage electrical construction projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will lead a team of electricians and ensure that all electrical installations, maintenance, and repair work are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with local codes and regulations. The role requires strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, and excellent project management skills.

Key Responsibilities for and Electrical Superintendent:

\n
    \n
  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of electrical crews on construction sites.
  • \n
  • Ensure all electrical work meets industry standards, local building codes, and safety regulations.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • \n
  • Coordinate material orders, equipment deliveries, and manpower schedules.
  • \n
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • \n
  • Conduct inspections of electrical systems, identifying and resolving any issues.
  • \n
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety meetings.
  • \n
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • \n
  • Maintain documentation, including work reports, schedules, and project plans.
  • \n
  • Mentor and train junior electricians and other crew members.
  • \n
\n

Qualifications:

\n
    \n
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • \n
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician License (preferred).
  • \n
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and electrical codes (NEC).
  • \n
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • \n
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • \n
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
  • \n
\n

Education:

\n
    \n
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • \n
  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).

\n
