Maximus is looking for a Sr. System Consultant - Recording Studio in support of the Helpdesk and IT Support Program. The Sr. System Consultant - Recording Studio will provide proactive, white-glove customer service a wide range of IT support services in the field of radio and television broadcasting. In addition to those duties, the Sr. System Consultant will provide primary support for IT systems in the Recording Studio offices and in the client's Executive Office. The technical skills required of the Sr. System Consultant include network engineering, systems integration, graphics, office automation support, hardware/software troubleshooting, interface with application vendors, systems analysis/programming, and web development.

This is an onsite role at our Washington, D.C. location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Lead reviews and analyze efficiencies of systems

- Analyze system data and performance reports to identify trends and business impact.

- Mentor IT Application Analysts in data analysis and process improvements

- Interact with all levels within the organization; develop working relationships with management, staff, stakeholders and business partners

- Participate in meetings and evaluate outcomes to ensure needs of project stakeholders are being met

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Customer Support and Communication

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required to prepare and deliver technical briefings and reports to government staff and/or hardware and software vendors.

- Ability to effectively teach technical concepts to customers, ensuring clear understanding and proper usage of technology.

-Develop training programs for client staff that include basic troubleshooting diagnostics for client staff members' respective systems and hardware.

- Develop preventative maintenance programs and backup/redundancy systems to ensure that the Recording Studio has uninterrupted operations.

- As new technologies are introduced into the market, the Sr. System Consultant will research, evaluate, test, and make recommendations to the client on an ongoing basis. Once an acquisition has been made, the Sr. System Consultant will be responsible for developing an implementation plan; installing, configuring, and testing hardware; training staff; and updating the documentation.

- Support all aspects of the operations, including computer support in relation to coverage of client broadcasts, and the following departments:

1. Client's television studios,

2. Audio studios,

3. Post-production (including graphics),

4. Closed captioning rooms,

5. CER/Tech Core/Data Center,

a. Scheduling and billing systems,

b. Streaming audio/video servers, and

c. Web server

Technical Expertise in Multi-Platform Environments

- Managing Operating Systems--Supporting Windows, Mac, and server systems, ensuring they are properly configured, updated, and maintained. Installing and configuring application software and computer hardware.

- Technical Support and Troubleshooting--Providing technical assistance to staff members, troubleshooting issues, and resolving problems related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.

- User Account Management--Creating and managing system permissions, user and computer accounts. Ensuring proper access controls and security measures.

- Security and Monitoring--Regularly performing security tests and monitoring system security. Implementing security protocols, firewalls, and backups.

- Network Maintenance--Maintaining networks and network file systems in partnership with the client. Collaborating with client network administrators to ensure seamless communication and connectivity.

Mobile Device Support:

- Experience in supporting iOS and Android devices, including setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting--Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to users. Knowledge of best practices for system maintenance and user support

Continuous Learning and Adaptability:

- Willingness to stay up to date with the latest technologies and advancements in both software and hardware.

- Flexibility to adapt to evolving technical environments and user needs.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.

- Bachelor's Degree in a computer-related field highly preferred.

- At least 5+ years of related technical experience.

- Customer service training and 5+ years of direct customer support.

- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills required to prepare and deliver technical briefings and reports to client staff and/or hardware and software vendors

- Experience supporting both Windows and Apple environments with associated back-up solutions and the ability to install and troubleshoot hardware and software in both.

- Experience supporting IOS and Android devices

- Must be able to effectively teach concepts to the customer

- Must possess one or more of the following certifications:

- HP Certified Professional to include certification as Accredited Platform Specialists for platforms including, but not limited to Desktops, Servers, Printers, and Laptops.

- Microsoft Certified Professional

- Apple-Certified Professional

- Experience with the following hardware/software base:

1. HP file servers running versions of Windows Server;

2. HP desktops, laptops, notebooks, printers, scanners;

3. Microsoft Windows OS, Linux, MacOSX

4. Dell PowerEdge file servers; SuperLogics servers;

5. Microsoft SQL Server;

7. Blackmagic Design Ultrastudio HD SDI video capture;

8. Chyron DUET and Ross character generators;

9. Android, iOS applications;

10. Wacom graphics tablets;

11. BlackMagic Ultra Studio SDI capture/playback, DeckLink mini recorders, frame grabbers;

12. Telestream and Harmonic Rhozet video transcoders;

13. Rimage DVD duplicating system;

14. Telos, Comrex, and Merlin TieLine audio to IP codecs;

15. SeaLevel and Brainboxes RS-422/RS-232 interface adapters;

16. AudioEngine and Lynx AD/DA audio converters; Folsom scan converters;

17. EEG closed caption encoder/decoders;

18. Adobe Premier Pro editing systems running Microsoft Windows;

- Experience with the following application software systems:

1. Akamai Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Control Center;

2. AWS Elemental Live Encoders, Conductors, and Video Streaming System;

3. Netia Radio Studio Media Asset Management system;

4. TransMedia Dynamics MediaFlex Media Asset Management system;

5. Switchboard Live Stream Management system;

8. Evertz Vista link and multiviewer systems;
