Staff Accountant Allied Feather and Down Corp. is a world leader in the down and feather manufacturing business. The company is a family-run operation with multiple manufacturing facilities worldwide. This reputable company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. Role and Responsibility The staff accountant must have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, an understanding of the month-end closing process, and an understanding of a manufacturing environment is a plus. The ideal candidate should have experience of collaborating with other departments. Essential Duties and Job Functions - Responsible for the preparation of the company's financial statements. - Ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded. - Maintains and reconciles fixed assets to the general ledger of the four entities. - Prepare the quarterly royalty statement - Prepare weekly sales report, weekly sales and labor analysis, mid-month sales and pounds report and the monthly sales and pounds report. - Assists in the outside accountant annual review and the bank audit. - Works on special projects when needed. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles - Knowledge of computer-based spreadsheets and reporting - Knowledge of Sage 100 contractor is a plus - Good understanding of a manufacturing environment - Must have spreadsheet reporting skills, i.e. Excel - Must be able to maintain confidentiality - Ability to work with scheduled deadlines. - Must be able to prioritize work to meet scheduled deadlines while handling multiple tasks - Must have excellent accounting skills, strong organization and communication skills - Ability to function as a team player Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in accounting is required - Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience. Work Environment: Office We have a positive work environment, and a culture based on integrity and teamwork. Work Hours: 40 Hours per week 8:30am to 5:00pm. Supervisory Responsibilities: None
